Fire! BBQ!

During the week of insane travel, crazy lady went to her brother's for a family BBQ. She managed to seriously burn the ribs:She loves to barbecue-- and, I know she's an awesome cook-- but wow. What a hot mess (haha). When she opened the grill and discovered that they were ON FIRE, Max told her, "don't open the grill. You add oxygen, which feeds the fire. Can I hold the tongs?" She moved the flaming ribs to a plate and handed her eight-year-old nephew the tongs. She figured he might have better luck with the food. The surprising thing? They actually ate the ribs!Humans. They'll eat anything...
Well, we are off to Connecticut and the "Cape" this week. You probably won't hear from us for another week or so. This time, crazy lady hopes to take plenty of pictures of my adventures at the beach. Bye!

Pure Joy and Happiness (Bye Echo!)

My best friend Echo is leaving for the wilds of Maine with her family. Her family spends the summer overseeing Camp Vega, an amazing adventure for girls. Echo gets to spend her time laying in the sun, swimming in the lake, playing with the kids, and tussling with her brother. Me? I'll be sun bathing, wrestling at the dog park, and playing with kids in Cambridge. Crazy lady is hoping that we can visit Echo and her family during the summer, but it depends on schedules. Sigh...crazy lady and her schedules... We had our last play date this morning. Do you see my butt in the air? I had just spotted Echo in the park:Crazy lady describes my reaction to Echo and her family as "pure joy and happiness." I jump up and down, whine, and run to greet them:Here we are, wrestling:And for folks who don't believe that I enjoy the company of humans? Here I am, saying "hello" to Echo's dad:Bye Echo! Have a wonderful time in Maine. We will miss you and your family-- but I can't wait to see you in December!

Day Trippin'

Well, we're back. I can honestly say that Formosan dogs were not meant to travel by boat. Especially at 4 in the morning. Maybe it was the leftover barbecue I consumed, before the trip? Whatever it was, I am very happy to be back on (somewhat) solid ground. Crazy lady applied for a five week artist-in-residence program. Free room and board on a remote island, with the closest civilization 70 minutes away. By boat. What the hell is she thinking? Writers. Sigh...Here are some pictures from a short hike we took with the Princess and her Mom, before our weekend adventure:I had a pedicure before the day hike. See? I'm a little nervous, but crazy lady is scratching my muzzle to distract me from the man clipping my nails.Pretty dog...Pretty Princess...

Trapped

Crazy lady knows that she hasn't posted in a while-- and she plans to write all about it, when we return to Boston-- but we're currently trapped on a remote island in Maine. We're okay. We came here to enjoy a horror writer's barbecue, and the weather won't let us leave until tomorrow morning. She's using a friend's computer to post these pictures:Check out the sign hanging on her (technically insane) friend's bathroom shower:It says: "Ladies, please do not share this cubicle. One at a time or you will be regarded as being up to no good and removed permanently." Her friend said that she stole the sign from a feminist bookstore in Madison. ARE ALL ARTISTS CRAZY?

More about our adventures, later this week. I promise.
