Crazy Lady's Progress

I'm pretty out-of-it, having spent the last few hours getting ready to fly out tomorrow, so I'm just going to copy/paste mom's latest e-mail update before I fall asleep sitting here:

"The latest news is that Crazy Lady will be transported from the hospital tomorrow for a 3 week stay at a Rehabilitation Hospital to help her regain the use of her hands, arms and legs. Right now she is unable to walk-her right knee caves in and she still has numbness on her left side [leg and arm]. She needs intensive physical and occupational therapy. Fortunately, she did not lose her ability to speak and swallow-something the doctors were worried about."

It will be good to see Crazy Lady and the rest of the Crazies tomorrow. Now, time to get some sleep.

Too bad there has to be so much hard work involved, but it sounds like things are reasonably OK. Still sending good thoughts and prayers for continued improvement.

Yay, CL can still talk and swallow! That's fantastic news. Hard work ahead but if anyone has the right kick-ass attitude for it, it's CL.

Any chance we can get an address for the rehab place? What might someone going through three weeks of rehab find fun or helpful to get in a care package? I have no idea! I have some Glee DVD's though that I'd love to send in case CL has time and a way to easily watch them in preparation for Glee's big return in April! I'd love to contribute some mindless stress reliever of some kind like that!!! But it would be much more meaningful if in addition we knew just what contraption or cool invention or software or genius new "hands-free does-something-amazingly-functional-and-helpful-for-you" device" could benefit CL......?? Would there be a rehab therapist contact that could post any ideas for us that he or she thinks would be particularly helpful for CL once the rehab is underway? I bet there's more people than any of us can count who would would jump at the chance to chip in for a get well gift that would make one day even just a tiny bit easier for CL. It would be awesome if everyone helping her recover knew that "hey, all we have to do is toss the idea out there and CL will have a bunch of people fighting to get it for her". What do you think?
